Kim Novak plays two roles in this TV soap  opera type film, a young Chicago actress and a  dead legendary movie queen. She is hired by  Louis Zarkan to play his late wife in a film. He
becomes obsessed with her because of her  similarity to his wife. He then tries to mold her  into a  copy of his wife, which results in tragedy.
