Coral Edith Browne
(July 23, 1913-May 29, 1991)

Coral Browne was born in Melbourne, Australia. She began acting on the Australian stage. When she was 21 she left for London and began a long career as a classical actress, her roles included appearances in "The Taming of the Shrew", "King Lear" and "Macbeth".

She also appeared in films throughout her career, starting in the 1930s. Her best known roles include Vera Charles in "Auntie Mame", Mercy Croft in "The Killing of sister George" and Lady Claire Gurney in "The Ruling Class".

She was married twice. Her first husband was Philip Pearman. They were married from 1950 until his death from cancer in 1964. Her second husband was actor Vincent Price, whom she met while they were filming "Theatre of Blood" in 1972. They were married from 1973 until Coral's death on
May 27,1991. Vincent Price died on October 25, 1993.
